What is a food tour? - A food tour is one of the best ways to learn about a country, it's history and its people through its food. On our food tours, you will be taken to discover great street food at selected spots where you will taste delicious Trini food at 5-6 spots, some of which are in communities which visitors don't even get to visit otherwise. It is a tour which has food, fun, and the meeting of new friends!
Should I eat anything before the Food Tour? - Well, I'll put it this way; our food stops offer full servings per person, not samples. As a result, many of our guests feel comfortably full after taking our food tours (some even had to take away what they could not eat with them). Since the food is consumed over a three-hour period, we recommend that either you don't eat anything or eat very light prior to our tours.
What types of food places will we visit? - You will visit street food spots that are locally owned by proud members and supporters of their communities and who are mainly off the main tourist areas.
Are there vegetarian options on the tours? - Yes there are but please indicate such when you are making your booking. If applicable, please also list dietary restrictions, religious factors, and allergies, and so on.
Do you only offer food tours? - While food is our thing (who doesn’t like to eat? LOL!) we also offer a wide variety of sightseeing tours and experiences so you can find anything to suite your tastes. For a list of our sightseeing tours and experiences, simply click here.
Will I be picked up and dropped off where I am staying? - Yes, once you are staying at a hotel / guest house / AirBnB in Port-of-Spain you will have complimentary pickup. You will also be returned safely to your hotel / guest house / AirBnB following the tour.
What if I have a long airport layover or I am on a cruise ship? Can I take a tour with you? - Yes, of course you can! Along with our regular tours we have lots of options especially for our airport layover and cruise ship guests. Click here to see a list of our tours. You will have complimentary pick up and return from and to the airport / cruise terminal.
Do I have to purchase tickets in advance? - Advance purchase of tickets is not necessary but it will confirm your seat in case we are overbooked for a particular tour. If you have a PayPal account you can simply complete the form on the Contact Us page, and we will advise you the cost of your food tour and send you a PayPal link to use for payment. You can also use our Viator / TripAdvisor link to book and pay instantly. Credit cards, however, are not accepted at this time.
Can I get a refund for my ticket if I need to cancel? - In the unlikely event you want to cancel (why would anyone want to cancel a food tour?) you can do so with a full refund up to 24 hours in advance of your tour. If cancellation should occur within 24 hours of your tour, the ticket price is non-refundable. Please notify us in writing at email@example.com or message us via WhatsApp at 1-868-307-2345, clearly stating that you would like to process a cancellation.
What happens when it rains? - Tours are held rain or shine. Please dress appropriately for the weather conditions, plus we have umbrellas if needed. In rare cases where severe or unusual weather conditions are expected, like very heavy rain and flooding, the tour may be cancelled and rescheduled or a refund will be offered.
What about bathrooms? - Yes, bathroom stops are available on the tours as required. We do recommend, however, that you use the facilities before meeting up for the tour, so that we can stay on schedule and maximise your food enjoyment.
What is the minimum and maximum group sizes? - Minimum of 1 to a maximum of 6 people. We enjoy small group sizes so we can get to know you and offer a more personal experience. You won’t find us shouting into a portable microphone!
If I am travelling on my own can I take one of your tours? - Yes, you can! All solo travellers are welcome to experience our tours!
